Answering Islam - A Christian-Muslim dialog

Adam – Allah’s Twin Partner

Sam Shamoun

In a recent “rebuttal” to Christian apologist Anthony Rogers’ article concerning Allah conferring some of his very own names upon Muhammad and the implications this has on Islamic unitarianism, Muslim dawagandist Bassam Zawadi wrote:

God as we all know would obviously have these qualities and attributes. However, Muslims believe that we have been created in the image of Allah and could attribute God's attributes to human beings in a limited manner. (Rebuttal To Anthony Roger's Article "To the Believers Is He Most Kind and Merciful: A Case Study in Shirk")

And this what he also wrote in one of his “responses” to me:

Yes we are created in Allah's image, but in a limited sense (limited mercy, justic [sic], power, etc.) and unlike Him. I don't see Shamoun's point. (Refuting Sam Shamoun's Arguments Against The Monotheism of Islam: Part 11)

The problem we have with these assertions is that Zawadi is not being entirely forthright with his readers since he left out some vitally important information. In fact, we must say that Zawadi is being rather deceptive at this point since he failed to inform his readers that he is a Salafi, and as a Salafi he actually believes (or is supposed to believe) that Allah didn’t simply create man (specifically, the first man) in Allah’s image:

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Ibn Hatim Allah's Apostle is reported to have said: When any one of you fights with his brother, he should avoid his face for Allah created Adam in His own image. (Sahih Muslim, Book 032, Number 6325)

Rather, Zawadi also believes that his god actually created Adam in the very height and shape of Allah! The hadiths even record for us the exact length in which Adam was created:

I. Initiating the Greeting

5873. Hammam related from Abu Hurayra that the Prophet said, "Allah created Adam on HIS FORM and HIS HEIGHT was sixty cubits. When He created him, He said, 'Go and greet that group angels and listen to how they greet you. It will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants.' He said, 'Peace be upon you,' and they said, 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah,' and they added, 'and the mercy of Allah.' Everyone who enters the Garden will be in form of Adam. People have been getting shorter until now." (Aisha Bewley, The Sahih Collection of al-Bukhari, Chapter 82. Book of Asking Permission to Enter)

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in HIS own image with HIS LENGTH of sixty cubits, and as HE created him HE told him to greet that group, and that was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring. He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of "Mercy of Allah." So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of Adam, his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed him continued to diminish in size up to this day. (Sahih Muslim, Book 040, Number 6809)

Here we learn that Allah’s height in which he made Adam is sixty cubits in length, or approximately ninety feet tall!

In other words, both Allah and Adam are/were roughly ninety feet tall according to Muhammad!

Lest Zawadi try to deny that this is what Muhammad meant we will quote some of his own scholars who readily and unapologetically admit that all the pronouns in the above narratives refer back to Allah, i.e. that Allah created Adam in His (Allah’s) very own image and length:

Ibn Abi 'Aasim narrated in al-Sunnah (517) that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allaah said: "Do not say 'May Allaah deform your face' [a form of cursing in Arabic], for the son of Adam was created IN THE IMAGE OF THE MOST MERCIFUL." Shaykh 'Abd-Allaah ibn al-Ghunaymaan said: "This hadeeth is saheeh and was classed as such by the imams and by Imam Ahmad and Ishaaq ibn Raahawayh. Those who classed it as da'eef have no evidence, except for the view of Ibn Khuzaymah, but those who classed it as saheeh are more knowledgeable than him.

Ibn Abi 'Aasim also narrated (516) that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah said: "When any one of you fights let him avoid the face, for Allaah created Adam in the image of His Face." Shaykh al-Albaani said: its isnaad is saheeh.

These two hadeeth indicate that the pronoun in the phrase "in His image" refers to Allaah, may He be glorified.

From these ahaadeeth we learn that IT IS PROVEN THAT ALLAAH HAS AN IMAGE (soorah in Arabic), in a manner that befits Him, may He be glorified and exalted. His image is one of His attributes which cannot be likened to the attributes of created beings, just as His essence cannot be likened to their essence.

And he [Ibn Taymiyya] said: "There was no dispute among the salaf of the first three generations that the pronoun in the hadeeth refers to Allaah, and it is narrated through many isnaads from many of the Sahaabah. The contexts of the ahaadeeth all indicate that. But when al-Jahamiyyah became widespread in the third century AH, a group began to say that the pronoun refers to something other than Allaah, and this was transmitted from a group of scholars who are known to have knowledge and to follow the Sunnah in most of their affairs, such as Abu Thawr, Ibn Khuzaymah, Abu'l-Shaykh al-Asfahaani and others. Hence they were denounced by the imams of Islam and other Sunni scholars."

The Prophet's words, "Adam was created in His image" means that Allaah created Adam in His image, for He has a face, an eye, a hand, and a foot, and Adam had a face, an eye, a hand, and a foot. but that does not mean that these things are exactly the same. There is some similarity, but it is not exactly the same. Similarly the first group to enter Paradise are likened to the moon, but they are not exactly the same. This confirms the view of Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jamaa'ah, who say that none of the attributes of Allaah can be likened to the attributes of created beings, without distorting or misinterpreting, or discussing how or likening Him to His creation.

See Sharh al-'Aqeedah al-Waasitah by Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Uthaymeen, 1/107, 293... (Islam QA, Question #20652: Commentary on the hadeeth, "Allaah created Adam in His image"; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Both the Quran and the ahadith support the view that Allah literally possesses a face, eyes, hands, torso, shins, feet etc. Here are a few examples:

And invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Everything will perish save His Face. His is the Decision, and to Him you (all) shall be returned. S. 28:88 Hilali-Khan

They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him! S. 39:67 Hilali-Khan

Here is how Muhammad interpreted this last verse:

Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that a Jew scholar came to Allah's Apostle and said: Muhammad, or Abu al-Qasim, verify, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, would carry the Heavens on the Day of Judgment upon one finger and earths upon one finger and the mountains and trees upon one finger and the ocean and moist earth upon one finger-in fact the whole of the creation upon one finger, and then He would stir them and say: I am your Lord, I am your Lord. Thereupon Allah's Messenger smiled testifying what that scholar had said. He then recited this verse: "And they honour not Allah with the honour due to Him; and the whole earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection and the heaven rolled up in His right hand. Glory be to Him I and highly Exalted is Re above what they associate (with Him)" (xxxix. 67). (Sahih Muslim, Book 039, Number 6699)

And here is a verse which speaks of the shin being laid bare:

(Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and they shall be called to prostrate (to Allah), but they (hypocrites) shall not be able to do so, Their eyes will be cast down, ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not). S. 68:42-43

Notice Muhammad's explanation of what this particular shin is supposed to be:

“… When there remain only those who used to worship Allah (Alone), both the obedient ones and the mischievous ones, it will be said to them, 'What keeps you here when all the people have gone?' They will say, 'We parted with them (in the world) when we were in greater need of them than we are today, we heard the call of one proclaiming, “Let every nation follow what they used to worship,” and now we are waiting for our Lord.’ Then the Almighty will come to them in a shape other than the one which they saw the first time, and He will say, 'I am your Lord,' and they will say, 'You are not our Lord.' And none will speak: to Him then but the Prophets, and then it will be said to them, 'Do you know any sign by which you can recognize Him?' They will say. 'The Shin,' and so Allah will then uncover HIS SHIN whereupon every believer will prostrate before Him and there will remain those who used to prostrate before Him just for showing off and for gaining good reputation. These people will try to prostrate but their backs will be rigid like one piece of a wood (and they will not be able to prostrate) …” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 532s)

Muhammad also taught that at the Day of Judgment Allah will actually place his foot over hell:

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet said, "The Hell Fire will keep on saying: 'Are there anymore (people to come)?' Till the Lord of Power and Honor will put His Foot over it and then it will say, 'Qat! Qat! (sufficient! sufficient!), by Your Power and Honor.’ And its various sides will come close to each other (i.e., it will contract). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 78, Number 654)

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "Paradise and Hell (Fire) quarreled in the presence of their Lord. Paradise said, 'O Lord! What is wrong with me that only the poor and humble people enter me ?' Hell (Fire) said, I have been favored with the arrogant people.' So Allah said to Paradise, 'You are My Mercy,' and said to Hell, 'You are My Punishment which I inflict upon whom I wish, and I shall fill both of you.'" The Prophet added, "As for Paradise, (it will be filled with good people) because Allah does not wrong any of His created things, and He creates for Hell (Fire) whomever He will, and they will be thrown into it, and it will say thrice, 'Is there any more?’, till Allah (will put) His Foot over it and it will become full and its sides will come close to each other and it will say, 'Qat! Qat! Qat! (Enough! Enough! Enough!) . (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 541)

Not only does Allah have shins and feet as part of his visible shape and form, he even wears a garment!

… Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Hurayrah that Allah's Messenger said...

<<"After Allah completed creating the creation, THE WOMB STOOD UP AND PULLED AT THE LOWER GARMENT OF THE MOST MERCIFUL. He said, 'Stop that!' It replied, 'My stand here is the stand of one seeking refuge in you from severance of ties.' Allah said, 'Would it not please you that I join whoever joins you and sever whoever severs you' It replied, ‘Yes indeed!’ He said, ‘You are granted that!’">> Abu Hurayrah then added, "Read if you wish...

<So would you perhaps, if you turned away, spread corruption on earth, and sever your ties of kinship> Then Al-Bukhari recorded it with another wording which states that the Messenger of Allah said...

<<Read if you wish: (So would you perhaps, if you turned away, spread corruption on earth, and sever your ties of kinship)>> Muslim also recorded it. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Q. 47:22: bold and capital emphasis ours)

Thus, according to Islam, Allah literally possesses a face, hands, waist, shins, feet etc., even though these qualities are supposed to be unlike anything in creation! [This is a meaningless statement since this could be said of any creature that has these same traits, i.e. a dog’s eyes are not the same as the eyes of a human being, bird etc. On the other hand, if they are not sufficiently similar to human eyes, hands, feet etc. there is no point in calling them such. If we start calling a house a car, a dog a tree etc. we are robbing language itself of all meaning. Either the above “explanation” (that they are unlike) is meaningless, or the original statements (that he has eyes, hands,…) are meaningless.]

The so-called Sheikh ul-Islam Ibn Taimiyah, considered by Salafis like Zawadi to be one of the greatest Muslim scholars that ever lived, did an excellent job of refuting the Muslims of his day who insisted that passages which describe Allah’s body-parts such as his face or hands are not meant to be taken literally, but should be interpreted metaphorically:

“Both these verses (i.e. 55:27 and 28:88) mention the attribute of Face. There are numerous passages in the Qur’an and the Hadith in the affirmation of Face which negate those amplifications of the Mu’attilah which they do in explanation of the Wajh (countenance) by interpreting it in terms of side, direction, reward and being. The creed of Ahlul-Haqq is that countenance is an attribute which is separated from Self. By proving this attribute it is not implied that Allah is composed of organs as is the statement of the Mujassima. It is rather an Attribute of Allah which is fit for His Self. This does not resemble any countenance, nor is there a face like it.

“The Mu‘attilah have argued from both these verses that what is meant by countenance is the Self, for in His eternality and non-extinction, countenance has no special position.

“We disagree with this argumentation for if there is no real face for Allah then to use this word in the sense of Self will also not be justified. This is because when a word has been formed to express one meaning, it is not possible to use it for other meanings unless of course the real meaning is proved for the object so qualified, and it is possible for the mind to be diverted from the one which is implied by what is intended to be implied, from which its appearance can be removed by any other way. It may be stated that the word Baqa is related to Wajh, and from this the eternality of the Self becomes implied, instead of saying that Wajh has been mentioned in an absolute way in the sense of meaning. Al-Baihaqi has mentioned by quoting Al-Khattaabi that when Allah by saying…

‘And the Face if your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever.’ (55:27)

“to His Self and as for the attribute of countenance He did not mention countenance in lieu of anything, ‘Might and Glory’ are Attributes of countenance and countenance is an attribute of Self.

“How is the Ta’weel of countenance with Self or anything else possible in the Hadith At-Taa’if. He says…

‘I take shelter in the radiance of Your Countenance by which You illuminated the darkness, etc.’

“Moreover, it is narrated by Abu Moosa Al-Ash‘ari that the Prophet said…

‘His cover is radiance or Fire. If He uncovers it then the brightness of His Countenance will burn up the creature up to the end of His sight.’” (Sharh Al-Aqeedat-il-Wasitiyah (Fundamental Beliefs of Islam & Rejection of False Concepts), written by Sheikh ul-Islam Ibn Taimiyah, commentary by Dr. Muhammad Khalil Harras, translated by Rafiq Khan, translation revised by Hafiz Muhammad Tahir & Abdul-Qadir Abdul Khaliq [Darussalam Publishers & Distributors, First Edition, 1996], 19. Affirmation of the Face, Eyes and the Hands of Allah, pp. 76-78)

And, in his explanation of Q. 38:75 where Allah mentions to Satan how he created Adam with his two hands, Ibn Taymiyah writes:

“Allah says: ‘What prevents …’ In both the verses occurring afterwards there is affirmation of the real attribute of both His Hands suited to His Stature. In the first verse, He is rebuking Satan when he had refused to lie prostrate before Adam whom Allah had made with His own Hands. It is not possible for us to interpret ‘Hands’ in the sense of power, for Allah created all things including Satan by His power. This gives no distinctiveness to Adam with which he could be distinguished.

“In a Hadith reported by Abdullah bin ‘Amr it is mentioned…

‘Allah created three things with His own Hands. He created Adam with His own Hands: He wrote the Torah with His Hands and planted the Garden with His Hands.’

“Special mention of these three things, despite the fact that they came into existence along with other creatures through His Power, argues in favor of an additional feature in their creation.

Yadain (two hands) along with the grammatical form meant for two is recognised for real hands alone. It has never been used in the sense of power and favour. It will not be justified to say that Allah created them with His two powers or two favours, because to construe from hands the sense of power, favour or any other sense than these, is possible only for such a one who really possesses two hands. This cannot be said for the wind that this is its hand or it is the hand of water…

“How can ‘hand’ be interpreted to mean power when the text proves mentioning of palm, fingers, right and left, closing, opening, etc. Which can happen only in the case of a real hand.” (Ibid., pp. 78-79)

In light of the foregoing, it is reasonably certain that Muhammad actually believed that Adam perfectly resembled Allah in physical appearance and height. Muhammad thought that Adam’s face, hands, torso, shins, feet etc. were fashioned after the face, hands, torso, shins, feet of Allah himself!

Thus, Muhammad erroneously believed that Allah and Adam were twins!

This fact also explains why Muhammad taught that Allah commanded all the angels to worship Adam:

And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves (osjudoo) before Adam." And they prostrated (fa-sajadoo) except Iblis (Satan), he refused and was proud and was one of the disbelievers (disobedient to Allah). S. 2:34 Hilali-Khan

And (remember) when We said to the angels; "Prostrate  (osjudoo) to Adam." So they prostrated (fa-sajadoo) except Iblis (Satan). He was one of the jinns; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblis) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zalimun (polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc). S. 18:50 Hilali-Khan

Being created in the shape and height of Allah, Adam obviously perfectly resembled the Islamic deity and was therefore a dead-ringer for the Muslim god. In light of this, Allah may have reasoned that there was no harm or sin in having the angels worship Adam, since the first man was essentially Allah’s twin.

In other words, Allah may have thought to himself that worshiping Adam was basically the same thing as worshiping him since the angels wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two seeing that they both perfectly resembled one another.

There is additional evidence which confirms that this is precisely the reason why Muhammad thought that Allah commanded the angels to worship his physical image.

There is every reason to believe that Muhammad adopted this fable from the Jews and Christians. According to certain Jewish and Christian sources, which were circulating long before Muhammad’s birth, when God created Adam in his image he commanded all the angels to worship the first man. Satan, however, refused to do so since he felt he was better than Adam.

The following version of the story is taken from a third-fourth century Gnostic, pseudepigraphal writing known as the Gospel of Philip:

48 Bartholomew saith unto him: Be still (be muzzled) and be faint, that I may entreat my Lord. 49 And Bartholomew fell upon his face and cast earth upon his head and began to say: O Lord Jesus Christ, the great and glorious name. All the choirs of the angels praise thee, O Master, and I that am unworthy with my lips . . . do praise thee, O Master. Hearken unto me thy servant, and as thou didst choose me from the receipt of custom and didst not suffer me to have my conversation unto the end in my former deeds, O Lord Jesus Christ, hearken unto me and have mercy upon the sinners. 50 And when he had so said, the Lord saith unto him: Rise up, suffer him that groaneth to arise: I will declare the rest unto thee. 51 And Bartholomew raised up Satan and said unto him: Go unto thy place, with thine angels, but the Lord hath mercy upon all his world. (50, 51, again enormously amplified in lat. 2. Satan complains that he has been tricked into telling his secrets before the time. The interpolation is to some extent dated by this sentence: ' Simon Magus and Zaroes and Arfaxir and Jannes and Mambres are my brothers.' Zaroes and Arfaxatare wizards who figure in the Latin Acts of Matthew and of Simon and Jude (see below). 49 follows 51 in this text.)

52 But the devil said: Suffer me, and I will tell thee how I was cast down into this place and how the Lord did make man. 53 I was going to and fro in the world, and God said unto Michael: Bring me a clod from the four corners of the earth, and water out of the four rivers of paradise. And when Michael brought them God formed Adam in the regions of the east, and shaped the clod which was shapeless, and stretched sinews and veins upon it and established it with Joints; and he worshipped him, himself for his own sake first, because he was the image of God, therefore he worshipped him. 54 And when I came from the ends of the earth Michael said: Worship thou the image of God, which he hath made according to his likeness. But I said: I am fire of fire, I was the first angel formed, and shall worship clay and matter? 55 And Michael saith to me: Worship, lest God be wroth with thee. But I said to him: God will not be wroth with me; but I will set my throne over against his throne, and I will be as he is. Then was God wroth with me and cast me down, having commanded the windows of heaven to be opened.

56 And when I was cast down, he asked also the six hundred that were under me, if they would worship: but they said: Like as we have seen the first angel do, neither will we worship him that is less than ourselves. Then were the six hundred also cast down by him with me. 57 And when we were cast down upon the earth we were senseless for forty years, and when the sun shone forth seven times brighter than fire, suddenly I awaked; and I looked about and saw the six hundred that were under me senseless. (*; *: bold and italic emphasis ours)

Now contrast this fable with the Quranic accounts:

We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the angels: 'Bow yourselves (osjudoo) to Adam'; so they bowed themselves (fa-sajadoo), save Iblis -- he was not of those that bowed themselves (al-sajideena). Said He, 'What prevented thee to bow thyself (tasjuda), when I commanded thee?' Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.’ Said He, 'Get thee down out of it; it is not for thee to wax proud here, so go thou forth; surely thou art among the humbled.’ Said he, 'Respite me till the day they shall be raised.' Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited.' Said he, 'Now, for Thy perverting me, I shall surely sit in ambush for them on Thy straight path; then I shall come on them from before them and from behind them, from their right hands and their left hands; Thou wilt not find most of them thankful.' S. 7:11-13 Arberry

And the djinn had We before created of subtle fire. Remember when thy Lord said to the Angels, "I create man of dried clay, of dark loam moulded: And when I shall have fashioned him and breathed of my spirit into him, then fall ye down and worship him (sajideena)." And the Angels bowed down in worship (fa-sajada), all of them, all together, Save Eblis: he refused to be with those who bowed in worship (al-sajideena). "O Eblis," said God, "wherefore art thou not with those who bow down in worship (al-sajideena)?" He said, "It beseemeth not me to bow in worship (li-asjuda) to man whom thou hast created of clay, of moulded loam." He said, "Begone then hence; thou art a stoned one, And the curse shall be on thee till the day of reckoning.” He said, "O my Lord! respite me till the day when man shall be raised from the dead.” He said, "One then of the respited shalt thou be Till the day of the predestined time." He said, "O my Lord! because thou hast beguiled me, I will surely make all fair seeming to them on the earth; I will surely beguile them all; Except such of them as shall be thy sincere servants." S. 15:27-40 Rodwell

When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate (sajideena), The angels fell down prostrate (fa-sajada), every one, Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate (tasjuda) before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted? He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved Until the day of the time appointed. He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one, Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. S. 38:71-83 Pickthall

It is evident that Muhammad must have heard this story and assumed that God had a physical image in which Adam was created. He also must have thought that being created in the image of the deity somehow justifies Allah’s command to the angels to worship Adam.

Little did he realize the problems he created by adopting this fairy-tale into a book which he claimed was sent down by the one who knows all secrets (cf. Q. 25:4-6).

In the first place, the command to worship or prostrate to Adam violates the express teachings of the Quran which connects prostration with the worship which is to be given to Allah alone:

When thou art amongst them, and performest for them the prayer, let a party of them stand with thee, and let them take their weapons. When they bow themselves (sajadoo), let them be behind you; and let another party who have not prayed come and pray with thee, taking their precautions and their weapons. The unbelievers wish that you should be heedless of your weapons and your baggage, then they would wheel on you all at once. There is no fault in you, if rain molests you, or you are sick, to lay aside your weapons; but take your precautions. God has prepared for the unbelievers a humbling chastisement. S. 4:102 Arberry

Surely, those who are with your Lord (angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate before Him (yasjudoona). S. 7:206 Hilali-Khan

O you who believe! Bow down, and prostrate yourselves (wa-osjudoo), and worship your Lord and do good that you may be successful. S. 22:77 Hilali-Khan

And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate (wa-osjudoo) to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. S. 41:37

So fall you down in prostration (Fa-osjudoo) to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). S. 53:62 Hilali-khan

Secondly, by claiming that Allah created Adam in his very own shape and height contradicts the Quran’s assertion that there is nothing which is like Allah or resembles him:

The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. S. 42:11 Hilali-Khan

And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him. S. 112:4 Hilali-Khan

However, according to Muhammad’s sunna, there is a person who perfectly resembles the Muslim deity, one who looks exactly like Allah, namely Adam!

In light of the foregoing, it is not surprising that Zawadi would fail to mention all of this since he seemingly realizes just how embarrassing it is to claim that Adam was created in the same exact shape and height of Allah. Zawadi seems to be aware that this means that Allah has a twin, a physical clone, according to the teachings of his prophet, one who looks just like the Islamic god.

This also means that Allah must be a limited, finite being, since he has a body which is bound to the dimensions of time, space and place. Therefore, according to the teachings of Muhammad, Allah cannot be an all-powerful or all-knowing deity, nor is he a god who transcends creation since he is composed of a body which limits him to space and to a particular place.
